Peter Davison
Poet of Motion
Dancer, juggler and physical comedian: Peter Davison is a one-of-a-kind artist who transforms the stage into a magical world of motion. With virtuoso abilities (former National Juggling Champion and winner of the Ballet Builders Award for New Choreography), Peter brings ordinary objects - a chair, table, newspaper, bottle, hats, clothing and more - to life in surprising, humorous and, at times,
touching ways. It’s a kinetic celebration of life unlike anything you’ve seen before!
Peter's full stage performance is currently one-hour in length. Peter also presents shorter performances and educational outreach programs for young audiences.
Reviews for Peter Davison
“A stunning display of sheer virtuosity…artistic, seemingly effortless perfection.”
San Francisco Examiner
“Peter Davison’s new one-man show, “Up in the Air,” makes for an enchanting evening. It’s one
amazing bit after another, some tantalizingly brief, all brilliant.” Dance Magazine
“Davison manages throughout to hold, captivate and win an audience all the way.” Denver Post
“There are few better ways to illustrate the flow of movement in the body than by watching Peter
Davison’s “Solo with Balls,” in which he rolls juggling balls around the periphery of his limbs.”
San Francisco Bay Guardian
“…a true master, one who has so perfected his craft that he appears to be casually playing with
universal laws.” Cal State Long Beach Forty Niner
“Both of Davison’s solos - “Wearing Several Hats” and “Interior 1” - took advantage of all his strengths - incredible movement capabilities, sense of space, use of props, and juggling - and both were not only very well performed, but total audience pleasers. In each, especially in “Hats,” Davison showed amazing and rapid (within seconds) character changes as defined by his props.”
World Dance Reviews
“It has something to do with movement, something to do with objects moving in space and everything to do with wonder. By the end of his one-man performance, the audience is on its feet – children and grandmothers, overaged hippies and business people – cheering and stamping.”
